Last Wednesday Hayesfield Girls’ School hosted one of the first football tournaments of the year. The afternoon turned out to be very successful and all the girls enjoyed themselves. The first few matches were very close finishing nil nil. Once the girls got into it the goals started flying in and were very exciting to watch. Charlie Griffin and Mark Preece were able to help out at the occasion by refereeing matches and offering coaching advice. As well as Fran Wild who also help out with the officiating and coaching.
There were only a few goals and points separating all 6 teams in the final results, Broadlands, Writhlington and Chew Valley all finishing joint 4th. Closely behind the top spot, Ralph Allen achieved 3rd place. And with only one goal between the top two teams, Norton Hill took the trophy home, with Hayesfield winning runners up.
